“If your heart was the inn in which Jesus was to be born, would there be any room?”

We’re continuing Week 2 of Advent and the theme of Peace.

(If you need a refresher of what advent is and why we’re doing this click here.)

Here comes your quote of the day! (Ngl, I’m pretty proud of this one.)

Jerry Maguire

Quote:

“You complete me.”

In a Nutshell:

Today we’ll learn about “shalom” and how peace is not just the removal of something negative, but also the addition of something positive.

Jerry Maguire’s line, “You complete me,” is one of the most iconic movie scenes from the ‘90’s. I think it resonated with audiences because of a longing we all have to feel complete and whole and for someone willing to do that for us. Ultimately, Jesus is the only one who can bring the full, complete, perfect wholeness that we need and long for.

What in your life feels lacking / not whole right now? Do you believe Jesus wants you to have shalom in the midst of whatever you’re going through?
Invite him into that.

Are there people in your life you struggle to love and where conflict comes easily? Do you believe Jesus wants to bring peace and wholeness to those relationships? Tell him about that too!

Check it out in the bible app.

Young Life Daily Challenge:

  1. Share your answer to one of the reflection questions in the Bible app “talk it over” section.
  2. Do one thing today that makes you feel whole! Go for a run, take a nap, spend time with a friend, whatever it is. Just take a second to think about the wholeness Jesus wants to give you today.

We love you.
