“If your heart was the inn in which Jesus was to be born this year, would there be any room?”

We’re kicking off Day 3! Get ready for one of my favorite heroes of all time.

(If you need a refresher of what advent is and why we’re doing this click here.)

Robin Hood

Quote:

“Rise and rise again until lambs become lions.”

Today’s Bible Project Advent Reflection:

In a nutshell:

Optimism chooses to see how circumstances could work out for the best.

Biblical hope, however, is not based on circumstances. In fact, hopeful people in the Bible often face difficult times with no evidence that things will get better, but they choose hope anyway. For example, Israel’s prophet Micah lived in the midst of injustice and evil but looked to God for hope.

Young Life Daily Challenge:

  1. Share your answer to one of the reflection questions in the Bible app “talk it over” section.
  2. One of the things I love about Robin hood is that he isn’t afraid to go against the grain for the greater good. Just like Micah didn’t want to get caught up in the stress of confrontation and adversity, these guys rose above it all because they had clear vision and didn’t allow fear to distract or deter them. Micah said, “Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.

So for today’s challenge, find the highest spot you can and send us a picture from it. Whether that’s going for a hike somewhere, the top of a parking garage, or standing on a chair. Let’s rise up, squad.

MUCH LOVE. xoxo.
