“If your heart was the inn in which Jesus was to be born, would there be any room?”

Let’s get it!

Quote:

“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

Devo:

Psalm 19:7–11, Genesis 3:1–7

Today’s readings are all about the connection between wisdom and joy. We so often get caught in the moment trying to chase after things we think will satisfy that we don’t realize we’re walking in the dark.

Take some time today to think about what lies you might be believing in this season and what truth the Lord wants to speak into that.

Jesus said “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” What comfort does that give you? What joy does Jesus have in store for you by following him?

Finish the full devo on the bible app. And in case you missed the video on joy yesterday, you can watch it here.

Young Life Daily Challenge:

  • Compare and contrast the two passages for the day. What words and concepts are repeated in both passages? What did you notice?
  • Share your answer to one of the reflection questions in the Bible app “talk it over” section.
  • In Psalm 19 God’s wisdom is explained as “more desired than gold” and “sweeter than honey.” Eat a spoonful of honey today and take a second to think about the joy he wants to give you today.

Have we told you lately that we love you? Cause we do. A lot.
